Additionally, there are a number of festivals attracting international performers. The Winter Festival of Symphony Music is held every January. The biennial Festival of Chamber Music held each alternate June supplements the regular local performances continuing from June to September in the courtyard of the Ethnographic museum. Special Opera and Drama performances, in addition to usual repertoare, are also held to coincide with the international festivals and fairs including the May Trade Fair, concentrating on light industry and products and the Autumn Trade Fair at the end of September for heavy industry. Outdoor light shows and other events may also be held in Freedom Park immediately west of the modern town centre square.
