Bansko is a museum town in southwestern Bulgaria, located at the foot of the Pirin Mountains. Its typical stone houses – characterized by carefully joined stone masonry, few and small windows with grid, framed with decorative bricks – resemble monastery constructions. Besides with its beautiful architecture and marvelous nature, Bansko attracts tourists with great conditions for winter sports. It is the first ski resort in Bulgaria to host a World championship race.

Guaranteed Snow and Beautiful weather
Surrounded by the Pirin, Rila and Rhodopes mountains, Bansko is a climatic mountain resort with a short summer and long winter. The average temperature during January, the coldest month, is minus 1.9°C. Snow falls are abundant, providing a constant winter snow cover up to 2 m thick. The skiing season along the Pirin slopes starts in the middle of December and ends in mid-April.

Varied Skiing
The skiing conditions in Bansko are excellent. The Pirin Mountain has a predominantly Alpine character with three peaks towering above 2900 m. Nevertheless, the slopes offer perfectly maintained tracks for all types of skiers – from novice to expert. There are 70 km of ski runs out of which five are easy, eight - medium and one - difficult. The adrenaline lovers will have amazing time, blasting down the steep mountain covered with powder snow or riding trough the fun-park area or the half-pipe facility.

Learn skiing/snowboarding
The Bansko ski and snowboard school is a very good one. The training is divided in 5 stages, from A to E, according to the level of difficulty. The lessons may be group or individual and all “course graduates” receive skiing-certificates.

The resort rentals services are equipped with 3500 pairs of Atomic and Salomon ski, more than 670 Atomic snowboards, and ski and board boots of all sizes. The advanced wardrobe allows a comfortable gearing up every morning – a nice and easy start to a trilling day on the slopes. You receive your ski/snowboard gear dry and clean. The storage racks dry out and warm up the ski/snowboard boots to avoid the unpleasant and freeze moment when wearing on.

Ski and Snowboard Package
The Ski and Snowboard Package Offer covers skiing/snowboarding classes, unlimited lift usage, ski/snowboard gear hire or storage of own equipment, and bus transport to the runs.

24 hour Emergency Service
An Emergency Rescue Service is available round-the-clock. It is fully equipped and has bases in the town of Bansko and in the region of Shiligarnika in the Pirin Mountains. In addition, there are functioning hospitals in Bansko and the nearby towns.

Child care
While the parents enjoy their time, they can be sure that their kids will not get bored. The Kindergarten in Bansko is open every day from 9 am to 4:30 pm. The packages for kids between 4 and 7 years of age include professional care by English speaking expert, gondola lift ticket, snow play, meal, ski lessons, full ski equipment, Junior Ski Club membership, Special Gift and Club card allowing members further discounts.

The museum town
Here, at the foot of the Pirin Mountains, the houses look almost like monasteries - just as austere and inaccessible, with high stone walls and small latticed windows. The true Bulgarian spirit is hidden behind the solid walls and heavy gates. It reveals itself in the spacious rooms with friezes and bay windows, carved ceilings and doors, pretty rugs and embroidered cushions, in the murals, icons and amazingly carved iconostasis of the Holy Trinity Church (1832-35).
