As one of the southernmost in Europe, Pamporovo is the sunniest ski resort in Bulgaria. It is located at the foot of peak Snejanka in the hart of the Rhodope Mountains at an altitude of 1650 m. Skiing Skiing and leisure Pamporovo provides wonderful skiing opportunities – lots of snow and plenty of sun. Your perfect winter vacation will be complemented by the luxury comfort offered in the high-class hotels, the variety of entertainment possibilities and the exotic nightlife. Excellent snow and sunshine record The climate in Pamporovo is mild, with strong Mediterranean influence. The winter is soft with an average of 120 sunny days and 150 days of snowfall resulting in a snow cover reaching a thickness of 140 cm. This combination allows for a long skiing season at the resort – from mid-December to mid-April. The average air temperature during January, the coldest month of the year, is minus 3°C. The resort is protected from industrial pollution of the air. Good skiing for everyone The gentle profile of the mountain with its rounded slopes and summits make Pamporovo particularly suitable for beginners and intermediate skiers. Nevertheless, the difficult ski runs will test the courage of any exert. There are 29 km of runs for alpine disciplines of different difficulty available to the skiers, form which 3 for beginners, 10 intermediate to advanced, and 3 for experts. Pamporovo also features a giant slalom ski run. All ski runs are rigorously safeguarded and maintained in a perfect condition. Ski and snowboard instruction – It's a qualified success. More than 100 highly qualified ski instructors, fluent in various languages are ready to teach both beginners and advanced skiers. The training is divided in 5 stages, from A to E, according to the level of difficulty and lessons may be taken individually or in groups. The duration of the different skiing classes is between 3 and 12 days. Cross-country skiing classes are organized in two difficulty levels. All ski course graduates receive certificates. Hire of ski and snowboard equipment The 14 ski rental depots located near the runs and the lift stations offer more than 3200 sets of ski and snowboard equipment from world famous companies, as well toboggans, sledges, etc. In addition, skiers/snowboarders can leave their own equipment for safekeeping there. Ski and Snowboard Package The Ski Package Offer covers skiing/snowboarding school classes, unlimited lift usage, hire of ski/snowboard equipment or the storage of own equipment as well as a bus service to the slopes. Safety The Emergency Ski patrol service is situated next to the Students Lodge and renders a 24 hours emergency assistance.
